লা স্ত্রাদা
লা স্ত্রাদা'র পর্যটন বাংলা প্রকাশনার দৈনন্দিন-প্রচলিত বিষয়, লিখনশৈলী ও লেখার মানচিত্রের বাইরে। ২০২১ থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত প্রকাশিত বাংলা ও ইংরেজি বইয়ের সম্ভারে আমাদের মূল ঝোঁক নন-ফিকশনে। এখানে নন-ফিকশনকে ভাবতে হবে প্রকাশনা দুনিয়ার সনাতন রীতিনিষ্ঠ ও গোঁড়া তথ্যসিদ্ধ ছকের বাইরে। তাই লা স্ত্রাদা'র বইয়ের তাকে যেমন আছে চলচ্চিত্র, দেশকালের সমাজ-রাজনীতি, উদ্বাস্তু আখ্যান, ইকোলজি, বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, আঞ্চলিক ইতিহাস, শিল্প ইতিহাসের বিতর্ক, তেমনই আছে স্মৃতিকথা, লিঙ্গ-রাজনীতি, যৌনতা, আত্মকথন, মহিলাদের স্মৃতি, সংগীত, সংকলন, অনুবাদ, কলকাতার নানা চালচিত্র ও গ্রাফিক মেমোয়ার। এগুলি লা স্ত্রাদা'র সীমানা নয় বরং চলাপথের মধ্যেই বাড়তে থাকছে বিষয়সন্ধান। চিত্রায়িত কবিতা ও আখ্যানও প্রকাশ করেছি আমরা। 'লা স্ত্রাদা' মানে পথ। তাই চলতে চলতে পথের সীমানা পেরিয়ে যাওয়াই বই-বিষয়ী লা স্ত্রাদা'র পাথেয়।
La Strada
Since 2021, when it all started, La Strada has claimed its niche space beyond the predictable in present-day Bangla publication. Primarily publishing in Bangla and also in English, we have a certain preference towards the non-fiction as our major publishing interest. However, one might widen the possibilities of non-fiction here, pushing through its orthodox limits often set by strict facticity and informative vertigo. In this spirit La Strada has published on cinema, ecology, sexuality and gender, women’s reminiscences, local history, photography, Kolkata, art history, music, graphic memoirs, and Bangladesh. Further, we have published illustrated poetry and unique narratives. The list is neither exhaustive nor limiting, rather as we travel this road we broaden our publishing prospects. As the name proposes, in Spanish, La Strada refers to road, and we, as book people, walk along crossing boundaries.

কার্যনির্বাহী প্রকাশক ও প্রকাশনা সম্পাদক
মধ্য-নব্বই দশক থেকে সুমিতা বাংলা প্রকাশন, তথ্যচিত্র, ও নাটকের কাজের সঙ্গে যুক্ত থেকেছেন। যাদবপুরে এম ফিল করার সময়েই ১৯৯৭ সালে প্রথম বই প্রকাশ করেন প্রবাদপ্রতিম সংগীতশিল্পী কণিকা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে নিয়ে। দীর্ঘদিন যুক্ত থেকেছেন সন্দেশ পত্রিকার সঙ্গে। বইপাড়ার নানা প্রকাশনা সম্পাদনা প্রকল্পের পাশাপাশি দীর্ঘ সময় যুক্ত থেকেছেন 'নন্দন'-পশ্চিমবঙ্গ চলচ্চিত্রকেন্দ্র, বাংলা আকাদেমি, শিশুকিশোর আকাদেমির অজস্র প্রকাশনায়। চলচ্চিত্র দুনিয়ায় কাজ করেছেন গৌতম ঘোষ, রাজা দাশগুপ্ত, সৌরভ ষড়ঙ্গী প্রমুখের সঙ্গে। বর্তমানে তার জগৎ হিমালয় ও নিজস্ব প্রকাশনায় কেন্দ্রীভূত।

Sumita has been continuously working in various capacities in the fields of Bangla publication, documentary and theatre since the mid nineteen nineties. Her first book, published in 1997, was on the legendary Kanika Bandyopadhyay. Since then she had many ventures in publication and editing including Sandesh, Saptarshi Prakashan and many more publication. A film enthusiast she had also worked at Nandan—West Bengal Film Centre. In the world of documentary making Sumita has worked with Goutam Ghose, Raja Dasgupta, Sourav Sarangi and Bangladesh’s Bengal Foundation. More recently, she was associated for a time period with the editing of the Rabindra Rachanabali, being published by the Government of West Bengal.

ছোট পর্দার জনপ্রিয় অভিনেত্রী স্বরলিপি ব্যস্ততার শিখরে থাকতে থাকতেই টেলিভিশন মাধ্যম থেকে বহু আগেই সরে এসে মহিলা উদ্যোক্তা রূপে ২০১২ সালে যৌথভাবে গড়ে তোলেন কফিশপ 'বৈঠক'। এটি কলকাতার প্রথম থিম ক্যাফে। বাংলা সংস্কৃতি ও অন্যধারার বাংলা বইয়ের ঠিকানাও এই কফিশপ। বর্তমানে দক্ষিণ কলকাতায় আবার বৈঠক-এর দুটি জনপ্রিয় শাখার কর্ণধার তিনি। লা স্ত্রাদা সূত্রে প্রকাশক পরিচিতির পাশাপাশি স্বরলিপি নির্বাচিত অভিনয় প্রকল্পের সঙ্গেও যুক্ত।

Popular small screen actress Swaralipi left television quite early and shifted to entrepreneurship jointly establishing Abar Baithak, Kolkata’s first theme café in 2012. An avid woman entrepreneur, she now singly runs two popular outlets of Abar Baithak in South Kolkata. Apart from being a publisher now, she is a fitness enthusiast and acts in selected projects.
