I have selected a number of the articles on film and brought them together in this book, entitled Imaginings. Thoughts on Indian Cinema. My belief in the appropriateness of the title, Imaginings, stems back to when I started studying the films of Mrinal Sen nearly forty years ago and first embraced enthusiastically - the notion of the open-ended film. - John W Hood
